Marc-André ter Stegen's unveiling at Ajax had one more surprise waiting.

テア シュテーゲンのアヤックス入団発表には、もうひとつサプライズが待っていた。

Midway through his first appearance in a red-and-white shirt, a familiar voice played over the screen behind him.

赤白のユニフォーム姿でのお披露目の最中、背後のスクリーンに聞き覚えのある声が流れた。

It belonged to Frenkie de Jong, his old teammate from Barcelona.

その声の主は、バルセロナ時代の元チームメイト、フレンキー・デ・ヨングだった。

"Hi Marc, congratulations on your move.

「やあマルク、移籍おめでとう。

I already told you in person, but once again I'm really happy that you're joining Ajax.

直接も伝えたけど、改めて君がアヤックスに来てくれて本当に嬉しいよ。

I think everyone at the club is very happy as well," De Jong said in the video Ajax shared with fans.

クラブのみんなもきっと同じ気持ちだと思う」と、アヤックスがファンに公開した映像の中でデ・ヨングは語った。

The Dutchman knows exactly what he's talking about.

このオランダ人には、それを語る資格が十分にある。

He spent four years playing for Ajax himself before leaving for Barcelona in 2019 — the very city ter Stegen has just left behind.

彼自身、アヤックスで4年間プレーした後、2019年にバルセロナへ移籍している——ちょうどテア シュテーゲンが今離れたばかりの街だ。

"They're getting a great player and a great person.

The people in Amsterdam will take very good care of you, just as they did with me," De Jong said.

The move offers ter Stegen a fresh start after two difficult years.

今回の移籍は、苦しい2年間を経てのテア シュテーゲンにとっての再出発となる。

Last season, on loan at Girona, he made just two appearances before a hamstring injury ended his campaign early and cost him a place at the World Cup.

昨シーズン、ヒローナへのレンタル移籍ではわずか2試合の出場にとどまり、ハムストリングの怪我でシーズンを早々に離脱、ワールドカップ出場も逃した。

Now he arrives at Ajax on a season-long loan until June 2027, reuniting with fellow German international Julian Brandt.

今シーズンは2027年6月までの期限付き移籍でアヤックスに加入し、同じドイツ代表のユリアン・ブラントと再会する。

"The fans are incredible, the people are incredible, and the club is a wonderful place.

「ファンは最高だし、人々も最高だし、クラブは素晴らしい場所だよ。

I'll be supporting you from here," De Jong added.

"It's good for me to know that I'm in good hands.

Knowing how honest and direct he is, like probably most Dutch people, gives me a lot of peace of mind," ter Stegen replied.
