On the eve of the match, Paris captain Marquinhos faced the media in Salzburg.

The Brazilian centre-back has lifted almost every trophy available at club level, yet insists there is no room for complacency.

クラブレベルでほぼすべてのタイトルを手にしてきたブラジル人センターバックだが、慢心する余地はないと言い切る。

"We know how hard it is.

「僕らはそれがどれだけ大変か分かっている。

Just because we've won things these past seasons, that doesn't mean it's easy.

ここ数シーズン、いろいろなものを勝ち取ってきたからといって、それが簡単だという意味じゃない。

We know there'll be plenty of obstacles.

We're hungry, we want to win.

Trophies are an opportunity, and personally, I want more," Marquinhos told UEFA.com ahead of the final.

As captain, Marquinhos has also taken on a new task this summer: welcoming several new faces to the dressing room.

主将として、マルキーニョスは今夏、もう一つの役割も担っている。新加入選手たちをロッカールームに迎え入れることだ。

"My role is to help them settle in well, so they see the club's philosophy and ambition," he explained.

「僕の役割は、彼らがクラブの哲学と野心を感じ取れるように、うまくなじめるよう手助けすること」と彼は説明した。

Marquinhos, now 32, first joined Paris back in 2013 and has captained the club through some of its lowest and highest moments in Europe, from the 2020 final defeat to Bayern Munich to last season's long-awaited Champions League triumph.

32歳のマルキーニョスは2013年にパリへ加入して以来、2020年のバイエルン・ミュンヘンとの決勝敗退から、昨シーズンついに掴んだチャンピオンズリーグ制覇まで、クラブの浮き沈みを主将として見届けてきた。

Wednesday's Super Cup final in Salzburg is another chance to add to that collection.

ザルツブルクでのスーパーカップ決勝は、そのコレクションにまた一つを加えるチャンスとなる。

"We've all worked to get here, to arrive in the best condition.

「僕らはみんな、ここまで来るために努力してきた。ベストな状態でここに立てるように。

The team will be doing everything they can to secure victory," Marquinhos said.

チームは勝利をつかむために、できることすべてをやり切るつもりだ」とマルキーニョスは語った。

Whatever happens under the Salzburg lights, the message from Paris' dressing room was clear.

ザルツブルクの夜、どんな結末が待っていようと、パリのロッカールームからのメッセージははっきりしていた。
