「本当につらかった」デブライネ、シティ非更新の涙を告白

A new four-part documentary, A Beautiful Obsession, has revealed what really happened behind closed doors when Kevin De Bruyne learned his Manchester City contract would not be renewed.

新たな4部構成のドキュメンタリー『A Beautiful Obsession』で、ケヴィン・デブライネがマンチェスター・シティとの契約更新を告げられた際、舞台裏で何が起きていたのかが明らかになった。

"It's really hard," De Bruyne says in the series.

「本当につらかった」とデブライネは作品の中で語る。

"My kids don't want to go.

「子供たちは（引っ越すのを）嫌がっていた。

It's been really stressful days, and I'm not making decisions any more based on myself.

本当にストレスの多い日々だったし、もう自分ひとりの気持ちだけで決められることじゃなくなっていた。

It's easy to go to another team and play football.

どこか別のチームに移ってプレーするだけなら簡単だ。

But it's been a tough time for us as a family."

でも、家族にとってはきつい時期だった」

Pep Guardiola does not hide his own feelings either.

ペップ・グアルディオラも自分の思いを隠さない。

"It kills me," he says of letting De Bruyne leave.

「本当につらい」とデブライネを手放したことについて語る。

"Without Kevin, that period - forget about it.

「ケヴィンなしのあの時期は……考えたくもない。

He was crying here.

I have affection for that player.

彼への愛情がある。

We lived incredible things together.

一緒に信じられないようなことを成し遂げてきた。

Then you have to be more cold."

Back in April last year, a couple of weeks after his departure was confirmed, De Bruyne had already admitted he was shocked by the decision.

時をさかのぼって昨年4月、退団発表から数週間後、デブライネはすでにこの決断への驚きを口にしていた。

"I have not had any offer the whole year, they just took a decision," he said.

「1年間オファーは一切なかった。クラブが決めたことだ」と彼は語った。

"Obviously, I was a bit surprised but I just have to accept it."

「正直、少し驚いたけど、受け入れるしかない」

De Bruyne left City after ten trophy-laden years, having lifted six Premier League titles and the Champions League, before joining Napoli as a free agent.

デブライネは10年間にわたってプレミアリーグ優勝6回、チャンピオンズリーグ制覇を含む数々のタイトルを積み重ねたのち、フリーでナポリへ移籍した。
