「去年と同じミスだ」——ブルーノ・フェルナンデス、開幕黒星でユナイテッドの課題語る

Manchester United's new season started with a disaster.

マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの新シーズンは、まさかの惨敗で幕を開けた。

The newly-promoted Hull City beat them 2-0 at the MKM Stadium.

昇格組ハル・シティに、アウェイのMKMスタジアムで0-2で敗れたのだ。

It was Hull's first-ever Premier League win over United, and their first top-flight victory in nine years.

ハルにとっては対ユナイテッド戦初勝利であり、9年ぶりとなるトップリーグでの白星だった。

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, captain Bruno Fernandes did not hide his frustration.

試合後、TNT Sportsの取材に応じた主将ブルーノ・フェルナンデスは、苛立ちを隠さなかった。

"The same mistakes as we did last season in every away game," he said.

「去年と同じミスだ。アウェイの試合のたびに繰り返している」と彼は言った。

"We give too much of the ball to them."

「相手にボールを渡しすぎている」

Fernandes pointed to a specific problem in the opening minutes.

フェルナンデスは、試合序盤の具体的な問題点を指摘した。

"I think they have, in the beginning of the game, the first 20 minutes, the goalkeeper was the one that had more touches on the ball," he explained.

「試合の立ち上がり、最初の20分間で一番ボールに触れていたのはゴールキーパーだったと思う」と彼は説明した。

"He had too much time.

「時間を与えすぎていた。

I think we need to press a little bit more."

もう少しプレスをかける必要がある」

He then turned to United's set-piece problems.

続けて、セットプレー対応の問題にも触れた。

"We need to be a little bit more aggressive.

「もう少しアグレッシブになる必要がある。

And then, again, set plays, we need to work on it, to be more aggressive, and try to not concede this type of goals.

それと、セットプレーについても取り組む必要がある。もっと積極的に対応して、あの手のゴールを防がないといけない。

Obviously, against teams like this, they're waiting for that moment."

ああいうチーム相手だと、向こうはそのチャンスをずっと狙っているからね」

Asked if United had been caught out by Hull's physical approach, Fernandes rejected the idea.

ハルの強度に不意を突かれたのではと問われると、フェルナンデスはその見方を否定した。

"No, we knew.

「いや、分かっていた。

If someone didn't know, it's very surprising, because we know in the Premier League this type of away grounds are very difficult to play against.

もし分かっていなかったとしたら、それはかなり驚きだ。プレミアリーグでは、この手のアウェイの試合が難しいことは分かっているからね。

Apart from that two set pieces that end up costing us the game."

それを除けば、あの2つのセットプレーで試合を落とすことになった」

It was a rough start for Michael Carrick, in his first match as permanent manager.

正式監督としての初戦で、マイケル・カリックにとっても厳しい船出となった。

United had finished third last season and qualified for the Champions League.

ユナイテッドは前シーズンを3位で終え、チャンピオンズリーグ出場権を獲得していた。

Now their opening game brought only questions.

それだけに、開幕戦は疑問符ばかりが残る結果となった。

Fernandes also spoke about the pressure that comes with wearing the United shirt.

フェルナンデスは、ユナイテッドの背番号を背負うことの重圧についても語った。

"I understand the frustration.

「サポーターのフラストレーションは理解している。

We need them on our side like we did last season.

去年そうしてくれたように、サポーターには僕らの味方でいてほしい。

We need them to believe in us."
