「主力を売り急ぐ気はない」モイーズ監督、エヴァートンのボーンマス戦前会見

David Moyes brought his players to Finch Farm on Friday, one day before Everton's first away trip of the new Premier League season.

デイヴィッド・モイーズ監督は金曜日、フィンチ・ファームに選手たちを集めた。新シーズン、プレミアリーグ開幕後初となるアウェイ遠征の前日のことだ。

The destination was familiar: the Vitality Stadium, where Jack Grealish's late strike sent the Toffees to their first win there since 2016 last season.

向かう先には見覚えがあった。ヴァイタリティ・スタジアム——昨シーズン、ジャック・グリーリッシュの終盤の一撃で、エヴァートンが2016年以来の勝利を挙げた地だ。

With the transfer window entering its final days, reporters had more than just team news to ask about.

移籍市場が大詰めを迎えるなか、記者たちの関心はチーム事情だけにとどまらなかった。

Asked what he expected from Saturday's trip, Moyes pointed to last season's away record.

土曜日の遠征に何を期待するか問われると、モイーズは昨シーズンのアウェイでの好成績を挙げた。

"We always travel with a big away support, and they got some really good days last year."

「うちはいつも多くのサポーターと一緒に遠征していて、彼らは昨年、本当にいい思いをたくさんしてくれた。」

"So I hope we can continue it."

"To win games away from home in this league is a big ask, but hopefully we can build on what we did last season."

Talk soon turned to the transfer market, now entering its final stretch before deadline day.

話題はすぐに移籍市場、それも締め切りが迫る大詰めの局面へと移った。

Grealish, who scored that late winner during his loan spell last season, has been strongly linked with a permanent return to Merseyside.

昨シーズンのローン期間中にあの終盤の決勝点を挙げたグリーリッシュには、マージーサイドへの完全移籍復帰の噂が強く報じられている。

"Jack's not at our club."

「ジャックはうちの選手じゃない。」

"He was brilliant for us, great boy, but it's wrong for me to talk about him."

The manager was just as guarded when Iliman Ndiaye's name came up, after reports in the summer had linked the forward with Saudi club Al-Hilal.

イリマン・ナイジェイの名前が出た際も、モイーズは同じように慎重だった。夏の間、この選手にはサウジアラビアのアル・ヒラルとの噂が報じられていた。

"As far as I know, we've had no contact from any club."

With the deadline approaching and the squad still thin, Moyes praised one player who has adapted without complaint: Merlin Röhl, a central midfielder who has recently covered at right-back.

移籍期限が迫り、選手層がなお薄いなか、モイーズは不満ひとつ言わずに対応してきた一人の選手を称えた。本来センターハーフのメルリン・ロールが、最近は右サイドバックでピッチに立っている。

"Merlin's thrilled that he's getting the opportunity to play."

Hayden Hackney, meanwhile, was described as "touch and go" for Saturday after rolling his ankle in training, while Christian Nørgaard remains sidelined with no quick return expected.

一方、ヘイデン・ハックニーは練習中に足首をひねり、土曜日の出場は「際どいところ」だとされ、クリスチャン・ノアゴーもすぐの復帰は見込めない状況が続く。

As the press conference wound down, Moyes returned once more to the fans who follow Everton on the road.

会見が終わりに近づくと、モイーズはもう一度、遠征についてくるサポーターの話に戻った。

"It's difficult for supporters so we don't take it for granted."
